CALLWAY

My parents started their golf wholesale business in 1979. In 1982, Ely Callaway started his golf business in Carlsbad, California. He was a successful entrepreneur who had already made his money, for example by growing wines in the Nappa Valley and selling textiles.

Together with a group of friends, including Richard Helmstetter, clubs were developed where the hosel of the clubhead was omitted and the gained weight was placed at the bottom of the clubhead. The neck had become the attachment, the 'bore thru' principle was a fact. The clubs got a lower center of gravity, making it easier to hit woods out of the fairwway. The clubs also received a great 'catchy' name from marketing: “Big Bertha”, named after a well-known gun from the American Civil War. In 2020, that name will still exist in the range.

When I did an internship in Huntington Beach at Slotline Golf, I personally met Ely Callaway a few times. He was a friend of owner Duke Duclos, everyone got together over the time when you worked in the same industry over coffee.

Today Callaway is a super strong brand and is very involved in the performance of its clubs and that of its customers. As one of the few in Europe we are PROPONENT ACCOUNT, so we can buy separate club heads and build sets ourselves according to our wishes. Within Callaway, we are one of the top 5 customers in Europe with our branch, so we can switch very quickly with the head office.

Well-known tour players who play with this brand are: Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Jim Furyk, Danny Willett, Ryo Ishikawa, Wesley Bryan, Danny Lee, Kevin Kisner, Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie.

Callaway Golf consists of a number of strong brand labels; Callaway, Odyssey, Toulon Design and OGIO.

Founder Ely Callaway once said:

“Creating innovative, high-performance golf equipment is a challenge. It calls for a profound understanding of the game and those who play it. It requires intelligence, imagination and deep R&D resources. Above all, it demands a relentless commitment to be the best. You have to resist following and insist on leading. That's what Callaway does. ”

If you can't find anything, we have direct access to the Tour Department. Please come along and get to know our know-how of this beautiful brand.

We hope to meet you soon.
